You need a fence to protect your hay in the Lakes District.

Burns Lake conservation officers have received complaints of large groups of moose feeding in hay stacks. Ranchers across the Lakes District are encountering problems with groups of five or more moose at a time. Ultimately fencing or complete enclosure in a hay shed is the only reliable method to keep moose out of hay stacks. Conservation officers are currently investigating complaints of some land owners killing moose to protect their hay which is illegal.
