West Fraser Mills Ltd. has prepared a Forest Operations Map (FOM) #1203 for the Lakes Timber Supply Area. This FOM is available for public review and comment from January 17, 2024 to February 16, 2024. This FOM is available for review at Fraser Lake Sawmills, 6626 Highway 16 East, Fraser Lake, BC during the business hours of 7:30am to 4:30pm or on the Forest Operations Map (gov.bc.ca) website.
This FOM identifies the location of proposed cutblocks and roads, and the timing of proposed forestry operations to address the salvage of timber damaged during fires in the summer of 2023 in the vicinity of Taltapin Lake and the south east end of Babine Lake. The FOM is a requirement under the Forest and Range Practices Act and is intended to enhance transparency of operational planning and to provide engagement opportunities for interested members of the public and community stakeholders.
