Lakes District Secondary School teams qualify for provincials

A number of Lakes District Secondary School (LDSS) students recently travelled to Smithers to compete in various events at the Northern Zone Championships.

The competition was held on Feb. 3 and Feb. 4 and nine schools, including LDSS competed for two berths at the provincial championships to be held in Kimberley from Feb. 28 through March 4, 2011.

A total of 22 LDSS students attended the North Zone Championships.

"We had 13 boy snow boarders, four boy skiers, four girl snow boarders and two girl skiers," said Patti Dube, LDSS teacher and snowboarding and ski team coach.
