Henry was born September 15, 1944 in Hochstadt Colony, in the city of Potus, province of Durango, Mexico. Henry passed away in his home on October 29, 2004.
Henry was the oldest son of Martin and Maria Harder. In 1952, at the age of seven, he moved to Manitoba, Canada with his parents and several siblings. They lived in Manitoba for a year and half and he started going to school there.
Henry moved with his family from Manitoba to Saskatchewan in 1954, at the age of nine. They lived in Saskatchewan about a year and a half as well and he continued going to school there.
Henry and the family moved again in 1955, at the age of 10, this time to the Burns Lake area where he continued school.
At the age of 15, Henry was tired of school and quit to help his mom with chores and to look after siblings.
In 1963, at age 19, Henry started his first job fighting forest fires. He worked in the forest industry for the rest of his working years until he retired from Decker Lake Forest Products in 1982, as a result of becoming legally blind.
When he could no longer work he went back to school at the College of New Caledonia, and as Henry would say he went to get educated. He graducated from CNC and lived his remaining days in Palling. The Palling community was his second family and his friends there miss him very much.
Henry leaves to mourn his passing his mother Maria Harder, sister Helen Wiebe, sister Ann (Phil) Taylor, sister Mary (Ralph) Hall, brother Martin (Loretta) Harder, sister Susan (Jim) Currie, brother John (Diane) Harder, brother-in-law Merle and Shelly Olin, sister Tina (Andre) Lavoie, sister Agnus (Jacob) Peters, sister Eva (Dick) Reimer, sister Nitta, and many nieces and nephews.
