Gordon Lawrence Gilbert Bishop

Gordon passed away peacefully with his wife and kids and close friends present. Gordon Bishop was born August 28, 1932 in Young, Saskatchewan. He had two brothers George and Benny, and two sisters Ada and Dolly.
The three brothers moved to the Burns Lake area around 1947 to work in the sawmill industry making ties for railroad.
They eventually homesteaded on a place on the Southside appropriately naming it the Skunk Ranch due to the large family of skunks that were living underneath the cabin.
Gordon married Lois Beaver on February 19, 1955 and purchased a house on Tatalrose in 1961, where they operated a store and post office. After the arrival of their daughter Trena in February, 1966 and son Brent in November, 1967, they gave up the store and started grow their cattle herd. Gordon also ran his sawmill in the winter.
Gordon is survived by his wife Lois; daughter Trena (Stefan); son Brent; Grandkids Ashley, Coltin, Foster, Teaira; and Great grandkids Reece, Summer and Scarlett.
A Celebration of life will be held on August 19th, 2023 from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Francois Lake Hall. Stories about Gordon will be welcome. Light refreshments served after.
