Jan. 18, 1945- Aug. 15, 2004
Annie was born January 18, 1945 in Kerala, India. She excelled at her studies and began a Bachelors Degree in Mathematics before pursuing Medical Laboratory Science at the prestigious medical college in Vellore, Madrass, India. Annie ventured to New York in 1973, and two years later she came to Canada and began work as a laboratory technologist in the Burns Lake and District Hospital.
She returned to India and married Varghese Mathew on January 20, 1977. Together, they raised three daughters, Minta, Melina, and Mercy in Burns Lake.
Annie enjoyed the performing arts, loved many varieties of music and dance, enjoyed cooking and was well known for her ability to entertain. She loved flowers and took great pride in her gardening, but above all, Annie loved her family.
After surviving breast cancer in 1985, Annie’s faith in Jesus only grew stronger. She often used her experiences and illness to share God’s love with others. Despite her diagnosis with ovarian cancer in 2001, Annie continued to use her personal journey to comfort others struggling with similar battles. She will forever be remembered for her beauty, love, compassion, and courage.
Annie will be lovingly missed by her husband, Varghese and their three children, Minta, Melina, and Mercy.
Annie is survived by her parents, A.G. Daniel and Maryamma Daniel, and brothers and sisters: Rossamma (Varghese), Babu (Ammini), Valsa (Thomaskutty), Cherian (Sudha) and Marykutty. She was predeceased by her sister, Lily.
Annie may be gone, but her love will continue to live on in our hearts forever.
