1st time in 50 years B.C. premier participates in Vernon Winter Carnival

David Eby took part in several events, including the parade, during a two-day visit to the North OK

Without question, most people look up to B.C. Premier David Eby.

Standing six-feet-seven-inches tall, Eby is the tallest leader in B.C. history, and he became the first provincial leader since Dave Barrett in 1974 to attend the Vernon Winter Carnival. Eby took part in a number of opening weekend events, towering over almost everybody in every photo he posed for.

“We sent the invite in March with fingers crossed! We haven’t had a premier honoured by Carnival since 1974,” said Carnival executive director Kris Fuller.
